Notes
Built 1975 (possibly illegally?) on public land by ‘Dougie & Arch’. Refurbished on 11-14 January, 2025, by Permolat Southland volunteers. Access by the crossing the Telford Burn (marked with orange triangles & rope to assist in case of high waters) then follow markers & 4wd track up to the hut, which is in a small gully & inside the bush line. Be careful to stick to the marked route until you’re in public land to avoid walking through private property. The hut has an open-air toilet, woodbox, but water is from the burn or nearby creeks.
