The hut was reportedly burnt down in the late 1990's in some form of grievance. During land status checks for the establishment of Rakiura NP, this piece of Maori land was not identified. Furthermore, there used to be semi wild sheep & feral cattle around East Ruggedy, & Phillip Smith of Half Moon Bay, & a guy known as Christenson, used to blade shear the sheep they caught. A chap, known as Tom Ryan used to live here too. Tom' was from a long line of Ryan's, of Chatham Islands, Bluff, & Ryans Creek, Oban.Location:
