As of late March, 2022, the hut remains a locked private hut belonging to Coronet Peak Station, despite the 'Coronet Loop Trail' being officially open. Permission to use the hut must be obtained in advance. As of April, 2024, there is a toilet. Edit Hut

Is unlocked with a couple mattresses but comes with plenty of possum poo and mess. Far preferable to camp outside (best place is nearer to the creek, as the hut possums can be *very* noisy at night). Nice long drop at least!

Lots of possum poo on the mattress and a very strong smell. Nice new toilet though.
