It has 6 bunks and the category of Backcountry Hut.It was originally part of Braemar Station where it was used as mustering hut. In November, 2021, volunteers extensively renovated the hut. They replaced all the lead head nails with tek screws, replaced the clear light panel, replaced some flashings, removed & replaced the window with an aluminum one, including the window flashings. They replaced the door frame, blocked-up rat holes in the floor, replaced some of the bunk slats, replaced a missing roof joist, painted the exterior trim & roof, & improved the drainage around the hut. DOC removed the fireplace in 2016 & it is yet to be replaced with a logburner.Location:
