The historical Hooker Hut is the oldest hut in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. It was moved to a new location & fully restored in 2020-2021, with care taken to preserve its distinctive heritage features. It was officially opened on 29 April, 2021. Edit Hut

Awesome restoration, love the original parts and the fire is incredible. Bit low on water when we were there but there was plenty of snow so we were fine!

24th January 2025 OMG This hut is beyond cute I would just like to take to time to appreciate and say a big thanks to the DOC staff that maintain this amazing hut and to whoever helped rebuild it to its original character. I almost don’t want to tell anyone about it. 100% going back there in winter
