It has 8 bunks and the category of Standard Hut.Built in 1970 by the NZFS’s Mario Geremia & co. on the same site as the old hut, it used to have a Shacklock coal range. The hut was extensively renovated in late September, 2021, in a joint Back Country Trust, ‘Kaimahi for Nature' & DOC project. As a result the hut now sports new interior linings, two gable-end windows, two additional bunks, toilet, & a donated Wagner cooktop wood stove & chimney. January, 2022, saw volunteers build a new woodshed & tank stand, & install a new 1000L tank, plus they stained the hut exterior.Location:
