The third of 3 Kime Huts in the immediate vicinity. Kime Hut No. 3 was built in the summer of 2013 to replace Kime Hut No. 2 (1978-2013), which in turn replaced Kime Memorial Hut (Kime Hut No. 1) 1930-1978. Kime Hut No. 3 was officially opened 2014. Cold AF, if any hut in the Tararua’s deserves a fire it Kime. Hut was very nicely set out, nice covered in veranda area for getting out of wet clothes.

Known as the 'Tararua Icebox' for a reason eh! Pity there's nowhere to get firewood anywhere nearby, a fire would be mint there

Nice spot, but known as the 'Tararua Icebox' for a reason. One toilet seems to be lacking a door and has been for quite some time
