It has 4 bunks and the category of Backcountry Hut.Built in 1962, by Frank Erceg near the Collins Creek / Arawhata River confluence. Collins Creek eroded away where the cabin used to sit. In 1967, as the chimney was about to fall into the water, J. J. Nolan dismantled the Log Cabin in order to rebuilt it elsewhere. Unfortunately this never eventuated, as all the untreated beech logs, felled from the adjacent bush were spongy & useless. Nolan built another hut away from the water, circa 1970 (see 'Collins Creek Hut'), & he used the original Log Cabin flooring, window frames, table & chimney.Location:
