Since February, 2014, it has been owned & managed by volunteers from the Southern Lakes (Queenstown) branch of the NZDA, hence its a private hut, but for the sake of this website, it is categorised as 'back country'. The external water tank is roof-fed, with the tap in the hut bringing water in from a stream. The hut is locked but can be booked for overnight stays.
