I'm not sure the Old Mole Hut was burned down in 1987. I visited in December 1991 My diary: 'still far from derelict (as marked on the map). It sleeps three on a hay covered platform bunk and had an open fire place. Although it has no door, it is dry and cosy inside.' Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo. When I visited the new Mole Hut in Feb 2022, it is a completely different hut.

I went for the first time to the Mole Hut Old back in 1987 only to find a pile of burnt out remain's of the hut.Looked like It had burnt down a year or two before.
