I think the sign on the way that's been altered to read "Kinda TRACKish" pretty much sums up the way to and from this hut

Good hard, but cold with no fire. Snow up there in October 2022

Stayed 3 nights. No heating, but it's not really a problem in the summer. Has water on tap inside. A lot of Te Araroa walkers pass through, stay in campsite or hut in the walking season starting in October. Nice hut.

Very tidy. However, it has no stoves so bring your own cooker

Has 7+ campsites next to it, and great views on all sides. Maybe 20 minutes to the summit for even better ones.
