It is a protected historic site & possibly owned by Andrew Ree who mined at Potters from 1883 to 1923. One of the photos shows the newer corrugated iron musters hut in the background. The newer hut belongs to Glenaray Station, According to Jill Hamills 'The Archaeology of Otago', 2001 the stone hut belonged to John Bennetts who constructed a water rrace at Potters in 1932. A photo of the remains of Andrew Rees' hut features on page 49 of John Hall-Jones 'The Goldfields of Otago'
