2009: Phone Leith Carmichael for permission from Maori Trust. (NZFS built this, a few metres outside Forest Park - so had to forfeit it to Maori landowners)

Visited hut on 12/09/2015. Beautiful walk through the Kaimai's and past the Wairere Falls to get to hut. Was quite tricky to find as track that leads up to the hut is not well maintained nor well marked. Very clean upon arrival, we managed to sleep 5 of us in the hut. Had a visitors book to fill in, however was almost used up, so next person to visit-please take a new notebook to the hut.
