Last time I was there, I found the old piles from the hut, in the bush across the clearing where today's hut squats.

Believe the water was from the creek down the hill, not a tank. Had a sloping dirt floor, bunks constructed from manuka poles and chainlink fencing, with lumpy kapok mattresses. Plus the fire filled the hut with smoke. The greatest hut of my youth!
