Overall nice spacious hut, not much of a view though. Moveable bench which was nice, picnic table was inside which was cool. Could do with a fireplace. No view from dunny, though it was in nice bush.

Basic hut but so cute. Dry and tidy, nice little stock of emergency supplies left in cupboard. Would be very cold in winter, possibly drafty. Very few venture here according to intentions visitor book. Make sure you ask farmers permission if you plan to cross his land, nice fella.

Came in from the Northern end. 1h ish to hut, then walked through to Tangihua lodge carpark. The track from the hut to the junction with Main Ridge Track is GNARLY! Trees down everywhere, v. Overgrown, markers missing etc. Fun though! Took about 5h all up.

Lots of floor space, no fire.
