Great tidy hut near stream. Busy non bookable DOC hut was full when we stayed 22nd Oct 2022. Great hike in to hut with an 8 & 10 year old.

Just visited the Waihaha Hut this past weekend (19/08/19) via the Waihaha Hut track from SH 32. There is a large treefall blocking the track on the last section of the track, approximately 20-30mins from the hut. I didn't time it, but it would be about 20-30 mins from the large green clearing. As seems to be the case with most huts at this time of year, there is no dry firewood.
