Ownership was then transferred to the Okato College & once the college no longer had a use for it, ownership of the hut was transferred to the Waiweranui Trust who shifted it to this, its current site. The hut is used by community groups, is maintained by volunteers & sits outside the national park boundary. Water is pumped by a water-ram from the stream. Access to the hut is via a farm track across private land & permission to use this route must be obtained in advance. Bookings via the Waiweranui Trust.Location:
