It has 2 bunks and the category of Private Hut.Built in 1975 by the NZFS's Jim Stark & Nick Torr. This is the former 'Panda Bivi', relocated from an adjacent valley, due west. After being relocated it was extended at an unknown date & it is now composed of two flyable biv's fixed together. The original biv is lined & is used for cooking & sleeping. The unlined annex is for gear & boot removal, with both biv's clad in aluminum. It is a bio-diversity hut used by DOC staff & contractors in the Murchison Mountains 'specially protected area'.
