It has 4 bunks and the category of Backcountry Hut.These were relocatable NZFS & DOC staff / contractors huts. These were end to end with a railway type tarp between them. Originally situated on the Wharfedale Track halfway to the saddle for track work. Then relocated to a river flat below the Wharfedale Shelter (now hut) when the shelter was being built. After the shelter was built, they got relocated to the south-side of the saddle about 150m off the track near the zigzag. Neal Bocock (DOC ranger) reports the bivs were removed in 1993, after the tracks were repaired after the big 1992 snow, with one flown in to be used as Bobs Camp Biv.Location:
