This was formerly a dilapidated farm hut. It has been renovated into a two-room 'shelter' fully enclosed with doors, walls & windows. It's part of an official DOC campsite. The designation of 'shelter' refers to the absence of bunks. There is tap water, a wood burner & 20 campsites. Edit Hut

According to the signage at the entrance to this Doc campsite this was called Waldron Shelter. It is in good restored condition with match lined walls and ceiling. There are no bunks however, but it has a decent stainless bench and the woodburner.
